CWELCC Program Extension Announced
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I’m pleased to share that the federal government has agreed to extend its Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program.
In the short term, the agreement ensures that child care fees for eligible children enrolled in CWELCC programs will remain at their current levels of $22 or less per day, with average fees of $19 per day, until at least June 30, 2027.
Over the coming months, Ontario will continue discussions with the federal government on the delivery of its program to provide greater stability for families and the child care sector over the long term.
I know that families need timely information to plan for the future, so I will continue to provide updates and keep you informed as this work continues.
Sincerely,
The Honourable Paul Calandra
Minister of Education
