Before & After Care for School-Age Children
Whether your child is starting their morning with us before school or winding down after a full day of learning, they’ll benefit from a balanced routine that includes play, relaxation, and enrichment.
At Discovery Early Learning & Care, our Before and After School programs are designed specifically for school-age children, providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment outside of regular school hours. We understand the importance of consistency in a child’s day, which is why our programs offer a seamless transition between the classroom and care, giving families peace of mind and children a place where they feel comfortable, confident, and inspired.
Our programs are thoughtfully structured to meet the developmental needs of school-age children at different stages, with dedicated spaces, age-appropriate activities, and caring educators who foster independence, creativity, and social connection. Whether your child is starting their morning with us before school or winding down after a full day of learning, they’ll benefit from a balanced routine that includes play, relaxation, and enrichment.
We also offer full-day care during school holidays and Professional Activity (PA) Days. During these times, children have opportunities to engage with the community through field trips, explore new experiences, and further develop their independence and life skills as they prepare for the transition to being home alone after aging out of the program.
Available Programs
Full Day Kindergarten
Designed for kindergarten-aged children, this program focuses on nurturing early independence while supporting social and emotional development in a warm, structured setting.
- Ages: 4 to 6 years
- Emphasis on guided play, routine, and early skill-building
- Supportive transitions between school and care

Our School Age program provides older children with greater autonomy and opportunities for exploration, collaboration, and leadership in a dynamic environment tailored to their growing independence.

Families have the flexibility to enroll in Before School Care, After School Care, or a combination of both, allowing you to choose the schedule that best fits your daily routine.
With flexible scheduling, engaging programming, and a strong focus on safety and well-being, before the bell rings and long after it ends.

Process to Register
Step 1: All children must be on the Registry in order to start the process. Register with the City Child Care Registry in order to start the process.
Step 2: Speak with our team after you have register with the City Child Care Registry.
