We’re excited to share that a new location for the Main Site of Discovery Early Learning & Care is now open!
This major infrastructure investment increases the number of child care spaces available in Greater Sudbury and represents a significant step forward in our ability to serve local families. It’s the result of years of strategic planning and collaboration with generous support from the Ministry of Education Ontario, the City of Greater Sudbury Children Services, and a new facility partnership.
Discovery has long outgrown our former site on Falconbridge Hwy. in Garson. Our new location at 1311 Gemmell Street, adjacent to Gym Zone, provides more space, improved accessibility, and a custom-built environment specifically designed to meet the needs of early learning. The space has undergone extensive renovations, led by Perry + Perry Architects, to create a welcoming and functional environment that reflects our commitment to high-quality care.
We’re proud of what this means for the families we serve and for our team of passionate Educators. This move marks a bold step in Discovery’s continued growth, and we look forward to welcoming you to the new site.

84 New Spaces Created
The new Main Site will accommodate a total of licensed spaces of 134 to better serve our growing community.
More Central Location and Bigger Operational Space
Relocating our Main Site to Gemmel Street in New Sudbury provides us with a better central location in our community and more space to expand our learning environment.
Creation of More Jobs
Nearly 15 more positions will be required in addition to the existing staff at the Main Site to support the bigger operating capacity.
