We’re excited to share that a new location for the Main Site of Discovery Early Learning & Care is now under construction.

This project involves a major infrastructure investment that will positively affect the number of childcare spaces available in Greater Sudbury. We’re excited to share this news with our staff, families and the community, and we’re committed to keeping everyone informed to ensure a smooth transition.

The development of a new Main Site for Discovery has been a strategic priority for some years. We’re delighted with the opportunities that have been presented before us over the last few months including major funding through the Ministry of Education Ontario, the City of Greater Sudbury Children Services and the cooperation of a new partner space.

Discovery is deeply committed to the hard-working families we serve. Our organization is powered by a dedicated team of passionate people, and together we’ve earned a reputation as a phenomenal child care provider. In essence, we have outgrown our Main Site in our current location on Falconbridge Hwy. in Garson and it was time to move to a bigger space that can accommodate our growing demands.

Our new space will be in the same facilities as the Gym Zone, a local business and landlord located at 1311 Gemmell Street. Discovery Early Learning & Care will be taking over a separate adjacent space to the Gym Zone and will undertake leasehold improvements to make the space better suited to our needs. Construction will be overseen by Perry + Perry Architects and work is expected to commence in early September 2024. The entire space is being designed from the ground up and will focus entirely on our needs as child care providers.

This expansion and the relocation of our Main Site is a significant step forward in enhancing our learning environment, supporting our mission, and better serving our growing community. We recognize this transition will impact everyone differently.
